EXCESS WORKERS' COMPENSATION

We understand that a self-insurance program is only effective to the extent that losses are controlled. Midwest Employers Casualty Company has made significant investments during the last twenty years, developing information capabilities and cost management tools that empower clients to achieve their financial goals for their self-insured programs.

We underwrite with a 360 degree view of the client’s program. The combination of MECC’s cross-discipline team approach and the comprehensive state-by-state database of injury statistics and pricing technology, MECC’s underwriting technology is unparalleled. The same technology we use to price Excess is used to identify strengths and weaknesses in our client's self-insured program. MECC Underwriters provide quotes tailored to a client’s needs and based on the performance of the client’s Workers’ Compensation program.

MECC’s SELF-INSURED DIVISION

MECC’s Self Insured Division is comprised of two units (Individual Self-insured and Group Self Insured) to ensure that our clients have access to the specialized knowledge and resources needed to manage their program.

The Individual Self-Insured Unit is staffed to address the unique needs of individual self-insured employers. MECC’s Underwriters work with a wide range of businesses, including employers that are exploring the feasibility of establishing a self-insurance program to those companies that are looking for ways to improve their existing self-insurance program.

The Group Self-Insured Unit is staffed to address the unique needs posed by group captives and association programs. We recognize the challenges faced by group programs, and our professionals specialize in developing solutions that enable group programs to flourish. We understand the importance of building and maintaining a strong membership base and the emphasis placed on providing value-added services to the group. Our excess insurance products and service offerings have been designed to enhance the value of membership in today's competitive climate.

SELF-INSURED BONDS

Midwest Employers Casualty Company also provides Self-Insurer Bonds to MECC clients that are required to post collateral with their State Regulatory Authority. We contract with Five Star Specialty Programs (formerly BISYS Specialty Programs), to manage our Surety Bond Program. Underwriting considerations determine the collateral amount required. Prompt, professional service is provided by:
